About Kalchik Furniture & Hardware

At Kalchik Furniture & Hardware, craftsmanship meets engineering.

While many restoration shops focus solely on woodworking or refinishing, our backgrounds combine over a decade of mechanical engineering with a lifelong passion for furniture restoration and design. Together, those two disciplines allow us to solve problems creatively, restore pieces thoughtfully, and build custom solutions that simply wouldn't be possible with either skill alone.

Meet The Engineer ~ Adam Kalchik

Engineering & Custom Hardware

For more than a decade, I've worked as a mechanical engineer, collaborating on projects for large companies where precision, problem solving, and attention to detail were part of every project.

That experience now plays a major role in my custom hardware and reproduction work.

Using professional CAD software, 3D scanning, and high-detail resin fabrication, I'm able to design original hardware, reverse engineer discontinued pieces, and recreate missing components that are often impossible to purchase today.

Every design begins as an idea before becoming a digital model, a prototype, and ultimately a finished product ready for years of use.

My engineering background allows me to approach every project logically, accurately, and with an attention to detail that extends far beyond appearance.

Furniture Restoration & Woodworking

Woodworking has always been a passion of mine.

As a teenager, I gained hands-on carpentry experience while helping renovate and flip houses. Those early experiences taught me the importance of quality craftsmanship, patience, and doing things the right way the first time.

To me, furniture is more than wood and finish.

Furniture is a small house.

Every color, every finish, every detail contributes to how a space feels. I've been fascinated by the psychology of color from a young age, and I believe every completed piece should feel intentional—not simply refinished.

Every restoration is approached as an opportunity to preserve craftsmanship while creating something that feels unique, timeless, and personal.
